ReplyDeleteHi Folks, Can anyone plz let me know the in depth meaning of this songs. . . Can't wait to hear from you guys... Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteThis is not a song popularizing the mothers love as famously understood. This has a very very strong spiritual base to it. Here in this song, "amma" does not mean mother. It means the universe of duality, of maya. Edeyaala is the universe where the poet feels stuck in, and wants liberation (mukti). This song would be wonderfully understood if the reader is accquainted with the basics of vedanta.
DeleteAmma ninna edeyaaladalli galakke sikka meenu, midukaadutiruve naanu -
O mother I am a fish trapped in this universe created by you and I am suffering in it.
Kadiyalolle nee karula balli, olavooduthiruva tayi, bidada bhuviya maye.
- Why won't you break this umbilical cord ? Why do you shower so much love? Why won't you let me cut it and be free from all limitations? Why wont you free me from maya.
Ninna Rakshegoodalli Bechchage Adagali Eshtu Dina? Dhoodu Horage Nanna Ota Kalive.. Olanota Kalive.. Naa Kalive Urdhva Gamana.. O Agaadha Gagana..
How many days will you keep me protected from the truth? Let me free, let me break from this maya, let me run, let me look inward. I will learn to look inward and i will learn to pay attention to the divine within me, I will learn the secret of the infinite.
Mele Haari.. Ninna Seletha Meeri.. Nirbhaara Sthithige Talupi.. Brahmaandavanne Bedhaki.. Indhana Teeralu Bandhe Baruvenu.. Matthe Ninna Thodege.. Moortha Premadhedege.
Let me fly above the attraction that you build in me, let me fly above this world of senses, this world of illusion. Let me reach that state of formlessness, that state of eternal bliss where i will know the entire universe and be one with it. Once i know this, I will come back, because I have my karma left to solve, I will come back to your lap to finish my fuel(karma) of life. I will come back to the love of the forms, once i have tasted the bliss of the formless infinite. :)
